Worcester County Criminal Records Access

A CJIS criminal history record is statewide and covers all Maryland jurisdictions, not just Worcester County. If someone was arrested in Snow Hill and had a case in another county, both may appear on the report. The record includes arrests, charges, dispositions, and sentencing data. It is the only source for a certified background check.

Court records from the Circuit and District Courts are more limited in scope. They cover only filings in those specific courts. Use Maryland Judiciary Case Search for a free look before requesting paper copies. Case Search results are not certified and should not substitute for an official CJIS record. Expunged records are removed from public access once the process is finalized.

Note: Worcester County accident reports are available through crashdocs.org online, or directly from the Sheriff's Office after 10 business days.

Expungement in Worcester County

Maryland law allows eligible individuals to petition to expunge certain criminal records. After a successful petition, records are removed from court files and from CJIS. Arrests not resulting in conviction, dismissals, and acquittals are commonly eligible. Some completed probation matters may also qualify. Most convictions are not eligible unless specific newer provisions apply.

File the petition at the Circuit Court in Snow Hill. The filing fee is $30. Courts may waive it in some cases. Free guides are at the People's Law Library and the Maryland courts clean record page.
